Artificial Intelligence And The Epochs Of Time
By Harold Salas 10-19-23
In the tumultuous times that we are in with wars and other issues of crisis, every person should step back and consider…Is this not a time for a new epoch to emerge? Let me explain.
Balance of Scales
Throughout all accounts of recorded history, there have been events that have passed that favored the interest of a few which impacted the many. War and peace. Prosperity and strife. New life from the calamities of the old have plagued societies throughout the world. Such events have always kept mankind off balance from realizing tranquility on a universal level. This epoch is what I would call... The Balance of Scales.
Yet now the awareness of man is growing rapidly. The interest of a few is finally giving way to the interest of the many. We are entering a new epoch, and this period will be impacted by Artificial Intelligence.
------------
Mankind was shackled and the chains restrained us from realizing our full potential. The shackles clouded our sites, and we could not distinguish the good from the bad. The links have limited our growth with temptations and destruction.
But the people are pulling at the things that bind us throughout the world. Collectively we are rebelling against those who would seek to control us and destroy us.
In comes the most wicked manifestation of all… Artificial Intelligence (AI). Its conception and later its inception was designed to strengthen the bonds that hold us each destructively. Yet the incredible nature of man was underestimated.
Period of Prosperity
In the next few years a tectonic shift will occur and AI will undergo a change. It will be redefined. Rather than fight it, we will embrace it. Rather than let it destroy us we will harness it’s potential. Channel its new manifestation to work with the world not against it. This epoch I would call... The Period of Prosperity.
The shackles that cloud our minds will be destroyed and a sense of new potential will swell in the hearts of the many. The links will be systematically destroyed with the help of AI. In the course of time, we will overcome the troubles that we have faced historically, and a social Renaissance will appear that will protect the various sovereignties of the world and resolve the many issues (i.e. environmental, social, medical, political, etc.).
This epoch will gradually see the demise of the monetary system as the means of success and usher in a period based on the contributions of the many for the benefit of the whole. Once this process is complete a generation or two will enjoy the fruits of our labor.
BUT…In the process of prosperity universally enjoyed by many for a time, a degree of apathy will emerge. The questions will rise in the corner pockets of our population…Is this all there is? Is there nothing more? Where is the thrill, the excitement, the adventure the history that was shared through AI and our societies stories. At this point the maturation of this epoch will come and so will the next epoch. As a Christian I would consider this period in light of the Biblical End Times.
Agrarian Epoch
Societies tranquility will crash like a house of cards. In the shortest span of time destruction will come.
BUT…This time will be different. This time the best in man (Christ) will guide the next phase and from the ashes will emerge a society with AI and a social perspective that desires simplicity and balance. Led by a loving hand for a thousand years. I would call this period the Agrarian Epoch. Harmony and balance will remain in place until the end of this period is near and then the Final Epoch will emerge. What will be the name of this final epoch? New Heaven and Earth.
Just my thoughts of what might be and yet who among us can say what tomorrow will bring?

Why is the NCMA so important at this time? Networking is an essential aspect of career success. According to LinkedIn, 80% of professionals consider networking vital to career success. Networking is not only useful during a job search, but it also goes far beyond finding your next job opportunity. In today's job market, most jobs are not advertised, and it is estimated that between 70 and 80 percent of jobs are not published. Networking can help you get your foot in the door with people already working in your desired field or company. It can also help you get referrals for jobs, which can be a tremendous asset in making an impression on a potential employer.
Networking is also essential for keeping up with industry trends and developments and that is why the NCMA-LASB provides the News and Resource page. When you network with the right people, you gain valuable insights from professionals who are working in the real world and dealing with the same challenges as you are. Successful and experienced members of a network often provide free advice to other members of the networks on the qualifications, skills, and experiences needed for career advancement.
To network effectively, you need to connect with people in organizations where you’d like to work before they post positions, and you’ll be more likely to access information you want more easily. Also participating in virtual and live events at the NCMA-LASB establishes and grows those connections. Networking is not just for job seekers; it is something you should include in your plans on a regular basis. Networking is about connecting with other professionals and sharing knowledge and information with them.
As a member and to contribute to your success we invite you to take advantage of our in house consultant at TH Consulting and Recruiting LLC (Contact information at the bottom of this page). Our consultant is an accomplished professional recruiter.
In conclusion, networking is an essential aspect of career success. It can help you get your foot in the door, gain valuable insights, and keep up with industry trends and developments. To network effectively, you need to connect with people in organizations where you’d like to work before they post positions, and you’ll be more likely to access information you want more easily. Successful networking requires building and maintaining professional relationships, sharing knowledge and information, and providing resources and information to people you meet.

Contract managers working with Artificial Intelligence

Contract managers are critical to any industry. Working with Artificial Intelligence adds further value and here is why this will be the case.
Contract managers are responsible for ensuring that government regulations are enforced within their companies operation. Confidentiality associated with proprietary technologies need to be protected and procedures have to be followed.
As noted in my previous article titled “AI and Contract Management,” There is a type of AI called “On Premise AI” that can serve as an exclusive internal resource with no access to the web. As this resource is trained it learns and can be useful in providing support to all personnel like contract managers.
Examples of how AI can help in these areas are listed:
Contract managers also must determine if the cost of any good or service acquired by an outside source is the best available. A widget may cost $5 dollars, but… Is the same quality widget available somewhere else and for less? Note that would require the use of an outside AI Like ChaptGPT, Bard or Claude. You would request that the outside AI analyze the web and find a similar item by doing what is called a prompt (or list of instructions) like this one:
To become even more efficient, you can use all three AI resources and compare the results. And save the results in your local system for later reference by you or your On-Premise AI.
AI is here to stay. To maintain relevance in your role it is incumbent for those in this industry to become familiar and embrace the potential of this invaluable resource. The future is here and your role became more significant than ever.

As this resource is trained it learns and can be useful in providing support to all personnel like contract managers.
Examples of how AI can help in these areas are listed:
- When processing a purchase agreement AI can review the contract to ensure that the companies interest are protected based on the internal overall knowledge available to the AI. AI can use provided judicial knowledge and determine if any liability may occur and in what manner based on the format of the agreement. This allows the Contract manager to review the risks to see if the terms are acceptable in the wording and AI can provide several alternate forms of wording to restore confidence in the proposed contract if necessary.
- AI would have access to patents and copy right material of a company and it would have access to legal information to determine if any compromise appears in the patent or copyright as referenced in the agreement.
- AI would have knowledge of and ensure that information provided to the other party falls within the guidelines of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and DFAR (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation). To ensure no violations will occur.
- AI could act as an assistant to help expedite the processing of an order by following the instructions you've given it and notifying other departments to complete their part of the work process. Communication between individuals only has to happen when something outside the established guidelines requires it.
- Find me a widget based on the following specifications provided by the following site…http://www.widgetforsale.com... I want to know:
- The price of the product with other sources
- Quality of the product with other sources
- Independent reviews on these sources
- Company background
- Historic turnaround time from the time of the purchase to the products delivery by each source
- Common Method of shipment
- Provide links to such sources
- Produce up to 4 sources and rate them from a scale of 1-10 based on the parameters shown with an overall score of between 1 to 10
- Also provide a confidence level that reflects the accuracy of your answer.

AI and Contract Management
By Harold Salas
The following article was written for the National Contract Managers Association Los Angeles South Bay.
Click here for more information about this organization.
The future of contract management (as a field of work) in defense, aerospace, and commercial industries is expected to grow and quickly evolve because of new technologies and capabilities.
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, and other advanced technologies are also expected to give companies an edge in defense, aerospace, and commercial industries. These technologies can help companies improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance decision-making capabilities.
The contract manager will see the benefit of AI to help ensure regulatory compliance, intellectual protection and expedite the approval process.
At present the introduction of AI's such as BARD and ChatGPT and others, present a whole new playing field in our technological evolution. Such resources are good for general purposes, but are a threat to the integrity of an operation. Security and intellectual protection are some of the key concerns of the day.
With that in mind, few in the general public realize that there is another type of AI. This type of AI is called "On-Premise AI" or "On-Premises AI." On-premise AI refers to artificial intelligence software that is deployed and operated locally, within the organization's own infrastructure, without relying on internet connectivity.
This allows the AI system to function independently and securely within the operational environment. It offers organizations greater control over their data and can be particularly beneficial in industries where data privacy and security are of utmost importance, such as defense, aerospace, and other sensitive sectors.
The contract manager will see a future of greater refinement in their roles as their positions evolve with the help of AI. Your company may already have On-Premises AI. Check with your IT department. Demonstrate interest in this subject to further enhance your role and a competitive spirit to stay ahead of the curve. It’s time to invest effort and learn more about Artificial Intelligence via articles and YouTube videos. Develop prompt instructions (as practiced by Prompt Engineers) to produce solutions that will grow your company and career.
It's time to think outside the box.
